A Memoir about the Dark Side of First Love

I’ve been working on this memoir for over 17 years. It’s written, it’s just not ready. I don’t know that it’ll ever be 100% ready, but I’m posting this in order to stay accountable and make it happen eventually.

Nothing quite strikes the core of your soul like the heat of first love. Mix in a tumultuous childhood, a tendency toward love addiction and low self-esteem, and you have a recipe for disaster. Many of us may remember our first love with rose-colored glasses, but those of us who deal with inner darkness and addiction may remember things in a different light. My first love experience was dark, intense, passionate, sweet and soul-crushing all at once. It defined my future in more ways than one. We may move on in life, but we will never forget.
